My Weekend, My Last
I had a great 3-day weekend… except for Thursday night.

FUCK JHU!!!

As I said before, my husband promotes parties, and I do my best to help him out. Thursday night, the group he promotes for (HNS) were a little short staffed and I was asked to help work the door. They had 2 lines… one for general admission and one for John Hopkins University (JHU) students. I was to work the JHU line and ask the students to sign up for HNS’s email list. 90% of the people I asked turned their nose down at me and were really rude! The faces they made at me and the tone in their voices when saying NO, were as if they thought they were better than me. You just don’t know how bad I wanted to curse their asses out! But I couldn’t, b/c I really like the girl that runs HNS and I didn’t want to disrespect her, and I didn’t want to fuck up and future promotional opportunities for my husband. But these KIDS looked at me as if what I was doing was my livelihood… I so wanted to be like, “Bitch!! Don’t think you’re better than me… b/c you want to be where I am… Graduated from a well known university (with 2 degrees) and possessing a CAREER (not job!!) This is NOT my livelihood! So don’t be snobbish towards me!” I only did that for the first 2 hours of the night… but that blew my entire night… I didn’t have fun. No more JHU sponsored events for me… fuck them snobbish ass KIDS!

I WAS WASTED!!!

Friday, my husband and I had a get together at his (our) apartment. We both took off to prepare for everything… cook, clean, and set-up. We were told all day Sat that it was the “party of the year.” We had soooo much fun… food, alcohol, friends, games, good times, good times. I was well past drunk! I was wasted! So wasted, I don’t remember the anything past 1AM. So wasted that I passed out! So wasted, I was in bed all day Sat! Some might think that should’ve ruined my weekend, but it didn’t… it made it better. My husband stayed home with me and took care of me :oD

CHILLED…

Sunday, I chilled. I had to work at my part-time job. I don’t really do anything there… the easy way to make a lot of money an hour. After work, me, my husband, Kween, and Tesha bugged out with some left-over food and drinks from Friday. It was cool.

MY LAST!!!

Today is my last day with Micros. (YES!!!) I start anew with T. Rowe Price tomorrow. I’m really excited. The job isn’t even 10 min away from my house!! I haven’t had a job that close since I was in college! I just wanted to make sure I got a post up today because I don’t know what my work load will be like at TRP. I may not be able to be on the blog scene all like that… and I didn’t want anyone to wonder why I was M.I.A. So wish me luck at my new job! And everyone have a good week at work!

Experiment Results:
I case you're confused as to what experiment I'm referring to.. see post below!

My hypothesis was true! There were seven of us: Me, my husband, Day, TE, KM, Ms. Mason and Kween (so we didn’t have a control!) 2 of my friends were drunk by 11AM.. me and others by 12PM… My husband, Day and Ms. Mason weren’t really drunk.. they just had a nice buzz.

All questions were answered:
What does it feel like to be the 1st person at the bar? Crazy!! But what was really funny, was that 2 min later.. this old dude walked in and asked for a shot of Crown Royal & a Corona! We were all wondering if he’s a regular on a Sat morning…

What does it feel like to be drunk when the sun is still out? BRIGHT!!! KG was right… we all should’ve taken sun glasses!

How does being drunk early, affect the outcome of our day/evening/night? What evening/night?? We slept the day away! But we ate a lot before we did…

Who will be DRUNK first? It was a tie b/w KM and Kween!

We had so much fun… we were all up and ready to go like we were going to work! My husband and I woke up about 7:30AM, called everyone and got dressed. We all met at Bob Evans about 8:45AM and had a great breakfast. We left there about 9:45AM and got to the bar at 9:57AM… we were there before they opened the doors!! We got inside and started throwing them back! We played drinking games and just laughed it up… Good times, good times!

About 12:30, we were hungry again… so some took a run to Chik-fa-la. I don’t know if I was hungry, drunk, or what… but those fries tasted really f*cking good!

About 1:10… TE decided we should go to the movies to see Date Movie. Bad idea! The movie was short… stupid… and everyone fell asleep… well, I didn’t, but I was so in a daze that I didn’t really know what was going on.

We left the movie and went to McDonald’s… that was the best fish-filet I had in a loooong time! (yes I was still drunk) From McDonalds we went home… This was about 3PM or so. Most woke up around 9PM… my husband and I… midnight!

Saturday was a good day. I learned that drinking during the day can be a lot of fun…. But it’s better to do it at night because alcohol makes you sleepy… so sleepy that you miss the entire day. Kween was supposed to go out Sat night… didn’t happen… my husband and I were supposed to go to a birthday party… didn’t happen. We even discussed drinking again that night… yeah right!!! That sure as hell didn’t happen. Day, Kween, TE, and my husband are all off today… but I’m pretty sure they’ll be posting their findings of the experiment pretty soon!

Scientific Experiment
I’m so glad that it’s Friday! And not just b/c that means that I’ll be work-free for 2 days… but because tomorrow is a special day! My friends and I decided to perform a scientific experiment (as my husband likes to put it.) Before I go into the details of the experiment, I need to make a disclaimer: Me, nor my friends are alcoholics. None of us have a drinking problem or suffer from depression. Yes we love to drink, but we are in control of our drinking habits to (a) save it for the weekends (b) know our limits (c) drink responsibly.

With that said, let me break down the experiment for you, according to “Planning an Experiment” provided by Cornell University:

Questions to be answered: What does it feel like to be the 1st person at the bar? What does it feel like to be drunk when the sun is still out? How does being drunk early, affect the outcome of our day/evening/night? Who will be DRUNK first?

Hypothesis: The bar opens at 10AM, my friends and I will be highly intoxicated by lunch time!

Variables: The tolerance level difference between me and my friends and the type of alcohol we consume.

Control: Kween – she won’t be attending the function due to rehearsal. She invited us to a function later in the evening. She will answer the question: How does being drunk early, affect the outcome of our day/evening/night?

Number of Replicates: As many rounds as we can handle!!

Constants: I can’t speak for the rest of my friends, but this MY constant!

I won’t be mixing drinks… This is the ONLY drink, that I can f*ck up to the fullest and not get sick or have a hangover :o)

Now that you know the basics, here’s the game plan: We’re going to breakfast about 8ish. After breakfast, we’re going to our favorite bar BJ’s!! This place is great… Where else can you get a STRONG Hennessy & Coke for $3.20?? All I need is $20, and I’ll be drunk AND be able to tip! They open at 10AM, and we plan to be in there as soon as they open the doors!

I’ll let you know the results on Monday. Everyone have a safe and fun weekend!

I Miss Him

*sigh*

My godson is my heart. I haven’t seen him since Christmas. He’s so cute and makes me smile. His mother and I aren’t on the best of terms right now, but I can get him, so why don’t I? Maybe because I know his mother won’t pick up the phone when I call… and she won’t return the call until hours or days later. Email used to work… but she hasn’t checked it lately (or at least responded.) Maybe because I’m too busy for myself sometimes, I think that I don't have time to get him. But just because I get him, doesn’t mean I have to keep him for the entire weekend. I can make it a day event.... I think I will. I want him… I have no plans for Sunday, so I’ll try to get him then.

My Weekend

Friday was cool. Three of my home-girls, my husband and I went to Goucher for the “Stomp out AIDS” step show. It was mad cool. I haven’t been to a step show since I was in middle school, so it was refreshing. It was entertaining and educational. In between each act, they discussed different myths and facts about HIV/AIDS. After that, my wonderful husband played Designated Driver so me and my friends can have fun. We went to Iguana Cantina, and had a ball. See pic below:

We were SUPER done... can't you tell :o) Something about me and my friends… as long as the music is cool, we can party in any environment (and as long as I have alcohol in my system!) Iguana cantina is what is called an International Club: 85% white population, 100% hip hop and R&B. On Friday nights, ladies pay $5 and drink FREE ALL NIGHT!!! Needless to say… since none of us had to drive… we were all F*CKED UP!!! All of us love attention, so we stay on the stage –> all eyes on us. But I don’t know what it is about the black chicks in an international club.. I guess all of their mindsets is like ours… We’re there to drink and have fun without being harassed… we can accomplish that on the stage! Let me tell you something… if there are other people on the stage, b*tch! Don’t try to get up there! Not to sound racial… but this is the only conclusion that I can come up with: Black chicks believe that white chicks are scared of them (not true!) so they hop their happy asses on stage with them and try to force them to move. Sometimes this works… a lot of times this doesn’t. Most white chicks will just dance with you so that you feel uncomfortable and get back down. I don’t know what goes through black chicks minds when they get up on stage while other black chicks are there… I was here 1st, I’m NOT moving. I’m not even moving slightly so you can maneuver your way through the crowd that’s on stage! I honestly thought we were going to have to knock these b*tches out b/c they were trying to take over… but when they saw that we weren’t moving, they got the hint and bounced. I was standing on the end, the one chick had the nerve to say to me “Can you move over a little bit, I’m going to fall if you don’t.” I ignored her. I don’t give a f*ck if you fall or not… get your ass back on the floor! But one chick did fall.. LOL.. not b/c there wasn’t any room on the stage, but because she was drunk out of her mind! After I made sure she was OK… I was cracking up laughing! We all were… that sh*t is embarrassing, but when you’re that drunk you either (A) don’t need to be on stage at all or (B) need not to be close to the edge of the stage! Anyways… I had so many shots of different drinks… Friday was a great night!

Saturday: It snowed =( I was really looking forward to going to the party my husband was promoting down at Club Ten… But Alcohol + Driving + Snow = Accident Waiting to Happen… so we decided against it. But from what we heard, it was a nice turnout.

Sunday: Quiet day. My husband and I laid around the house all day. Did some cleaning and cooking…

Today: No work. Had 2 interviews… I’ll know the outcome of one tomorrow and the other some time next week. So in between blogging and emailing my husband, I’m doing my homework.

I hope that everyone had a good weekend… and well wishes of a good week!

Whatever Happens, Happens for a Reason
I found the following on another blogger's site... I don't remember who's site it was, so I can't give them credit for it.. but I liked it & wanted to share:

The subject of this is so true....
Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
There is great comfort when you learn to "accept what God allows"....

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two :)

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

College is Overrated
At least in my industry… I can’t really speak for anyone else. I graduated from Penn State with 2 degrees: AS in IT, BA in Liberal Arts (IT and Management.) Every time I’m on my job hunt, nobody cares if you have a degree or not… I mean, it’s nice that you have one, but they much rather see a certificate instead. I think that’s CRAZY!! Neither one really proves that you know anything… both only show that you remembered enough of what was taught to you in order to pass a few tests. I think you would want someone with a degree over a certificate because they had 4 years (sometimes more) worth of tests that they had to pass in order to get a degree as opposed to a couple of months to prepare for 1-5 tests.

But… now I’m in grad school at Villa Julie College… My GPA so far is an A (yah for me!) But I think that school is overrated b/c there should be no way that with my study habits (procrastination is my best friend w/ HW) that my GPA should be an A. Tests are online (who in the world do you know that will really keep their book closed, during a closed book test when they’re at HOME taking it???) Plus, my courses are accelerated… 7 week courses.. what the hell am I supposed to learn in 7 weeks, when we only meet once a week? The main reason that I’m in school is because my grandmother thinks that it is soooo important for me to get my Master’s and has volunteered to pay for it (I’m not going to turn that down!) But if it were up to me, I’d be studying for my certification… I’ll have to wait until summertime for that….

Sometimes I wish that I was finished my Master’s and see how long it takes me to get a job with AS, BA, and MS behind my name compared to AS, BA, A+, MCP behind it!

Not Much to Say
I don’t have anything to really discuss, but I wanted to update my blog with something… So I decided to promote some events this upcoming weekend. So if you’ll be in the Baltimore area this weekend… come through!

First of all, today is National Black HIV Awareness Day and in celebration of that, this Friday, Goucher College is hosting a step show to “Stomp out AIDS.” All proceeds will go to an AIDS foundation. See more info about the step show here. All I’m going to say about today is get educated, tested, and protect yourself.

Saturday…. My husband is promoting a party at Club X (Ten) and b/c I like to support my man... Come party with us. See flyer…

That’s it for the weekend…. Hope to see you at one, if not both of them!
